A Taste of Oak Forest…
always delish and sometimes exotic!
A Taste of Oak Forest is OFHA’s premier event! It is your opportunity to give back to the neighborhood and to experience some great food from local restaurants, paired with fine wines from California to Chile and to sample some of Houston’s hottest craft brews…and there’s even more! This year TOF is excited to announce that Houston’s own Sonny Boy Terry will be performing at the 2017 Event! Terry Jerome, the leader of SBT, is recognized as one of Houston’s, if not one of America’s, top harmonica and blues recording artists. Join us for a night of wine, dine and dance under the canopy of moon and stars to celebrate A Taste of Oak Forest! (Just in case Mother Nature decides to rain on our parade, we have planned for a tented dining area.)
Returning restaurants for the 2017 Event include Rainbow Lodge (5th year!), The Barking Pig (3rd year), Gatlin's BBQ (2nd year), Tacos-A-Go-Go (2nd year). This year’s wineries include Michael David Winery (celebrating their 5th year at TOF), Kagan Cellars (California), LangeTwins Family Vineyards and La Fuente Winery (Chile). Our Craft Brewery lineup includes Eureka Heights (celebrating their 2nd year at TOF) and Great Heights Brewing. We are still adding, so check our website and social media for updates!
This year’s event will once again be held on the grounds of Hope Episcopal Church located in the heart of Oak Forest. Check-in will begin at 6:45pm where you will pick up your tasting glasses (wine and beer), wristband and raffle tickets (if purchased in advance). The restaurants will be set up in the Parish Hall; Wine and Beer Tasting Stations will be located on the grounds outside the Hall. Feel free to chat with the wine and craft beer representatives, as they are happy to talk about their products!
Don’t forget to check out the Silent Auction Items! Get your bids in before the auction closes! Raffle drawings throughout the evening! Raffle tickets available online!
This year’s event will be the largest ever! We expect to double the attendance for the 2017 event. Tickets are limited and will be available online beginning October 15. As an added feature this year, you will also be able to reserve/purchase a table to accommodate your friends, family or sponsored guests (please see descriptions and pricing below).
