Oak Forest Neighborhood is turning 70 this year! Happy Birthday, Oak Forest!
There are so many reasons why people enjoy living in Oak Forest, and the Oak Forest Homeowners Association helps support some of what makes it a great neighborhood. OFHA, Inc. is a 501(c)(4) non-profit civic organization that fosters safety, friendship, goodwill, and community spirit in our neighborhood. Two ways we do this are through the OFHA Membership and the Oak Forest Neighborhood Patrol Program.

Dr. Patel established her office by purchasing a private practice in the Oak Forest area of Houston from a retiring dentist in 1999. “I love my profession! Through the last 22 years, I have dedicated a large portion of my life to studying and practicing dentistry. It is truly an art and a science which is constantly improving and changing with new materials and better techniques. Keeping current with the rapid changes as they occur is a challenge and an opportunity for me, and in so doing, I feel I can give each patient the most appropriate dental care.” The goal of Dr. Patel and her team is to help each patient to keep their teeth in a state of health, function and esthetics for their lifetime.
Dr. Patel was born in Lancashire, England and moved to the United States when she was 10 years old. Her family settled in Crossett, Arkansas. She did her undergraduate studies at Baylor University and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Dr. Patel’s dental degree was earned at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas in 1994. She completed a post-graduate residency at the Houston Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Houston, Texas which allowed her to develop a greater expertise in treatment of her patients. Prior to 1999, Dr. Patel practiced in Phoenix, Arizona for four years where she was selected as the best dentist in the area by KPHO (CBS) Channel 5 news in 1997.
Dr. Patel considers herself a lifelong learner, and takes over 100 continuing education training hours annually at the world-renowned Pankey Institute. Dr. Patel recently received her Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry and she is currently pursuing her Masters in the Academy of General Dentistry. She has been featured in H-Texas magazine as one of Houston’s Top Dentists for over a decade. She is an avid member of the Greater Houston Heights community by being a committed member of the Greater Heights Area Chamber of Commerce and BNI Heights of Professionalism.
Being health conscious is an important part of reaching the goal of optimal oral and general health. Dr. Patel encourages her patients to observe healthy eating habits, maintain an exercise program, and enjoy a well-balanced life. “I love practicing yoga, keeping a great work-out routine, and maintaining the healthy eating habits that I recommend to my patients. I also enjoy reading both for pleasure and for learning about different cultures. During my free time, I love being with family, especially my husband, Randy.” Dr. Patel and Randy have been married for 23 years and have one daughter, Jenna who is 14. Randy is also a business owner, and his company, The Risher Companies, is located in the Oak Forest area. Jenna attends Second Baptist School and as a family, they participate in school and church events year round. Dr. Patel, Randy and Jenna love fishing, duck hunting, and relaxing together.
Dr. Patel’s office is always open to accepting new patients, and she and her team especially love meeting and serving the families in the surrounding neighborhoods.
